Sheltering the greatest set of Romanesque mural paintings preserved in Europe, the abbey church of Saint-Savin is a master piece of world art. Lying on perfect harmony between architecture and painting, it was built around the year 1000 and it is the only site on the UNESCO’s World Heritage List in the Vienne, since 1983!
This tour offers the opportunity to wander in the main rooms and areas of the abbey, with a guide. It also includes access to the tribune, where you will enjoy a panoramic view of the nave.
IMPORTANT: in the event of a religious ceremony, the guided tour presenting the mural paintings couldn't happen and an alternative guided tour would therefore be presented, dealing with the fascinating life of the monks of Saint-Savin !
Reduced fees upon supporting documents, the full fee would be asked otherwise.
Caution: Closed on 24th, 25th, 31st December 2026 and on 1stJanuary 2027
Tickets can be changed.
Animals aren't admitted within the buildings.
